On Friday I visited Liverpool John Lennon to hear about some of the future plans for the airport and how migration of navigational aids from land-based to satellite-based systems will help to improve efficiency for flights in and out of Liverpool. Any changes will also help to reduce carbon-emissions and make flights more eco-friendly.
It is always good to visit the airport and see how well it is recovering since Covid, with the airport recently announcing that this summer will be its busiest since the pandemic began. Passenger departures are expected be up 14% on 2022 figures, with more airlines and routes returning. This is good news for the airport, its staff and the local economy.
