Last week I met with Baroness Levitt, Under-Secretary of State for Justice, alongside Lord Michael Wills to discuss progress on the Public Authority (Accountability) Bill, or Hillsborough Law. Baroness Levitt is responsible for steering the bill in the House of Lords. Lord Wills and I worked closely together on the Independent Public Advocate Bill that the Tory Government rejected at every opportunity.
I hope to see a robust Hillsborough Law on the statute books that will provide the protections needed to avoid anyone else having to endure what the Hillsborough families have had to for the last 37 years.
