Maria Eagle MP A Strong Voice in Tough Times
After an opening speech from Labour Council Leader Liam Robinson at Labour Conference Keir Starmer announced the Hillsborough Law to delegates and members and spoke about it’s importance to the families of the 97, the city and to victims of other public disasters.
I was proud to be present alongside my constituents Jenni Hicks and Hilda Hammond, as well as other representatives of the Hillsborough families. These included Margaret Aspinall who on Tuesday introduced the Leader’s Speech and spoke about the support they have received from the Prime Minister.
I will be seeking to speak at the Second Reading of the Hillsborough Law Bill (officially the Public Office (Accountability) Bill) when Parliament returns from Conference Recess on 13th October.
