I was pleased this week to hear that two successful bids have been made by local sports groups to the Government’s Multi-Sports Grassroots Facilities Programme, which provides funding to make essential facility improvements so that communities have high quality pitches to train and play on.

£125 million has been committed nationally and in Liverpool Garston two sites, Leisure United’s Liverpool Heron Eccles facility on Abbotshey Ave in Mossley Hill and Liverpool Simpson site on Hillfoot Road in Hunts Cross have each received over £60,000 of funding for floodlights.
