On Friday I hosted the latest of our Garston stakeholder meetings, where a number of services joined with constituents from the area to update on work being done to combat ASB under the bridge.

We were joined be representatives from the Police, Liverpool City Council, housing agencies, children’s centres, a local Councillor and the Police & Crime Commissioner’s office who heard from my constituents how the work they have been doing since last year has been going. While services report improvements the residents told us that there are still ongoing problems, especially around safely reporting incidents and the targeting of under the bridge residents who do try and report criminal activity.

I am pleased to hear that alongside work already being done the PCC office have grants available that can be applied for to bring back more detached youth work in the area. Stakeholders will take away comments and reports from constituents that they will use to tailor their current activities and I hope make a difference under the bridge going forward.

We will be reconvening in a couple of months as we keep working towards a lasting solution for this concerning rash of criminality and anti-social behaviour.
