I have been made aware of rumours being spread around Speke about South Liverpool Homes’ 96 new properties that are being built having already been allocated in advance to immigrant families and not local residents, amongst other false claims about existing housing in the area.

I have been in contact with South Liverpool Homes who are also aware of these rumours. The housing will be allocated as per SLH’s usual application process. The group spreading these false rumours have also made the similar claims about housing allocation in other areas of the city and are stirring up dangerous views that seek to stoke hatred and division that our communities cannot afford to fall prey to. I raised these issues on Friday with the Police and Police & Crime Commissioner and will continue to work with SLH to combat these malicious and unfounded rumours.
