Maria Eagle MP A Strong Voice in Tough Times
Recently the Royal Navy’s flagship aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales has been docked in Liverpool. The Prince of Wales will rotate flagship duties with her sister ship HMS Queen Elizabeth and was made flagship in a ceremony on Tuesday in the city.
I was pleased to be on board as Minister for Defence Procurement and Industry to visit the ship, meet crew members and to host ministerial meetings with a range of defence companies and stake holders.
The Prince of Wales has deep links with Liverpool and, as part of the visit, renamed one of their passageways Penny Lane. As I have the real Penny Lane in my constituency I was proud to see this honour bestowed on board the vessel.
