I was pleased to be invited to Holy Family Catholic Primary School in Halewood, where Head Mr Quigley and the children had gathered for a special assembly to honour their support staff in Unison’s Stars In Our Schools initiative brought by Unison Rep Allan Harvey.
As Mr Quigley noted, a school isn’t just run by teachers. Teaching assistants, office staff, cleaners and site managers keep the school ticking every day, especially during the pandemic. I was very happy to add my thanks to them for all they do to make sure local children have a safe and inspiring space to learn.
